The use smartphones in Nepal is increasing day by day. Now, over 70% of people use smartphone in Nepal. Also, it has become easy to buy form official distributors because most all the smartphones have opened their store in Nepal. 

Among the uncountable number of smartphones, here is the list of some popular smartphones in Nepal.

Xiaomi Mi A1

These days most of the people in Nepal are using Xiaomi Mi A1. Xiaomi which gives a pure feel of Android to the users was lunched Mi A1 in 2017. Mi A1 has grabbed Nepalese market because of its coolest features. Also, it comes under budget and one might say it looks like iPhone 7plus. The Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display and storage wise, it has 64 GB onboard storage which is expandable up to 128 GB but uses SIM 2 slot. The phone sports stunning dual camera on the back by dual tone LED flash and portrait mode which performs absolutely great.

Samsung J7 Pro

Samsung has taken almost 60% market of Nepal due to its expression in new forms and making the customer satisfied. Samsung J7 pro became most popular Samsung smartphone from J-series, which was released in 2017. J7 pro is the top selling smartphone because it has a wide range of features at a reasonable price. The phone comes with a 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED touch screen display. It has 3GB RAM and 64GB storage (expandable up to 256 GB). The phone comes with 13 – megapixel selfie and primary camera which performs very good even in low light. The good thing about Samsung J7 pro is its huge battery that lasts nearly about 2 days with the average usage.

Huawei Nova 2i

Huawei Nova 2i which was launched in 2017 is gaining a lot of popularity from the first in Nepali smartphone market. The Nova 2i is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core processor and it comes with a 5.9-inch touch screen display. It has 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a micro SD card. It is also the phone for camera-obsessed people because it has Dual camera with various features to take best pictures and is very good at portrait photography. The phone offers 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 13-megapixel front shooter for selfies.

 

Oppo F5

Oppo F5 became famous in Nepali market. People are getting attracted with its selfie expert feature of Oppo F5. The F5 offers 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 20-megapixel front shooter for selfies. The Oppo F5 is powered by octa-core processor which has 6.00-inch touchscreen display, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is available in three colors- black, gold and red. Where red is more expensive because it has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.  Also, it is a dual SIM smartphone that accept Nano-SIMs.

OnePlus

OnePlus is also getting the popularity in Nepali smartphone market. We can see most of the people these days are using OnePlus 5 and one plus 5T. Both smartphone offer 6GB RAM + 64GB Internal Storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB Internal Storage. OnePlus 5 has 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED screen whereas 5T has 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED screen. But both phone come with 16– megapixel of selfie and primary camera which perform very well.

Others

Smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi note 5 pro, OnePlus 6, Huawei P20 Pro, Gionee A1etc are also getting space in Nepali smartphone market.

 

These smartphones we have listed are based on the customer interest and popularity it gained nowadays in Nepali Smartphone market. In context of Nepal, most of the people prefer smartphone which gives good value for money. According to Mobile Vendor Market Share in Nepal 46.58% people use Samsung, 8.92% use Huawie, 7.38% use Apple, 6.78% use Xiaomi, 5.85% use Oppo and 4.67% people use other brand of Smartphone. The data is based on from August 2017 to August 2018.

If we take a look at the country side of Nepal, we can see most of the people are starting to use smartphone. With increasing usage of social media apps, rural mobile phone users are switching to high-end smartphones supporting fresh applications. Maybe they are not using the most trending and expensive phones but they are using smartphone which comes under their budgets. There are many people who cannot afford high and expensive smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S8 or iPhone X but the competition has moved to the next level and the smartphone user base is also increasing rapidly.

The phones mentioned above are really worth for money and offers great performance. There might be some demerits but they really have more positive aspect.
