10 things you should avoid doing with your smartphone
Like anything central to life – food, money, shelter and many more, the smartphone has been also the most need for people these days. Along with the smart things that we have been doing with our smartphones, we have also been following some dumb culture.
Here, I have listed down 10 of the wrong things that we have been doing wrong with our smartphones which should be taken care of.
1. Overcharging your phone
Smartphones should never be overcharged. Charging our phones for a long period of time may lead to overheating and eventually cause damage in a long run.So, always remember to unplug your charger after your phone is fully charged.
2. Installing apps from unknown sources
Most of the smartphone owners have the habit of installing various apps from different app stores with unknown sources. Downloading these types of apps from different unknown sources will harm your phone, also there will be a high chance of data leakage.
So, downloading apps from the app store itself is the best choice of all.
3. Don’t plugin earphone and charge your phone at the same time
A recent study and news reports have revealed that plugging earphones while charging the phone may lead to electrocution(i.e. injury caused by electric shock). So, break the habit of listening to music plugging in earphones while charging your phone at the same time.
4. Don’t charge the phone along with the case
Though opening the case while charging is not always a possible thing to do, but it’s better to make a habit of opening it while charging the phone as phone cases restrict heat dissipation.
5. Don’t get smartphones repaired from an unauthorized shop
Phones should never be given to be repaired by an unauthorized dealer as there is no warranty in their repaired parts and may cause trouble in the near future.
Thus, take the trouble to repair your phone from an authorized dealer, even if it is not cost-friendly, it is the efficient one.
6. Never use cheap adapters to charge the phone
Avoid using cheap (duplicate) chargers to charge your smartphones as it may cause damage to your phone’s battery life in a long run.
7. Never expose your phone to direct sunlight while charging
Avoid charging your phone while in contact to direct sunlight or near any hot areas/places as this may lead to heat issue with the phone and may cause serious damage in a long run.
Even the habit of charging the phone under the pillow while sleeping should be avoided.
8. Draining the battery label to zero
Never drain your smartphone battery level to zero, this will make your batteries lose their ability to hold the charge and eventually worsen its capability.
9. Using an Anti-Virus app
Installing an anti-virus app on the phone to make the phone virus-free is one of the worst step ones can take. If you have already downloaded apps on your phone from a trusted source, then there is no meaning of downloading an anti-virus app to remove the virus.
10. Killing the recent apps from phone
Most of us have a habit of killing apps from the recent app menu. We think by doing this, our phone’s RAM will be cleared and the phone will run smoothly, which is, unfortunately, a wrong mindset.
Instead, by clearing the recent apps, this will put on more load on the processor and drain the battery life too.
Thus, these are some of the common mistakes one should avoid while using their smartphones for its longevity.
