What is ATM (Automated Teller Machine)? Step by Step guidance to withdraw money from it.

ATM stands for Automated Teller Machine. Because of its feature that you can withdraw your money anytime you want from anywhere you want, people also call it Any Time Money. Withdrawing money is generally an easy process. But, if you have never used ATM card before, then the step-by-step guidance to help you withdraw your money is shown below:

1. Make sure that you have an active bank account and enough balance:

Always ensure that you have a functioning bank account and make sure that the amount that you want to withdraw does not exceed your balance.

2. Find the ATM booth:

Now you have to find the ATM booth where you can withdraw your money from. Try to find the ATM machine of the bank that has issued you the ATM card which you wish to use. Also, to be safe from robbery, use ATM machines in crowded area and make sure you are alone in the ATM booth.

3. Insert your card in the ATM machine:

Once you have entered the ATM booth, insert your card inside the ATM machine. If you are not sure about the way to insert your card, look for the signs that may be near ATM machine or insert it as below (i.e. starting number in your ATM card pointing towards ATM machine):

4. Select the language:

ATM machines will offer you multiple language. So, select the language of your convenience. Once you have decided the language, press the corresponding button in the ATM machine.

5. Enter your PIN:

ATM machine will ask you to enter your secret PIN (Personal Identification Number). Enter your PIN in the keypad of ATM machine and make sure no one sees it.

6. Withdrawing the money:

You have to choose the way you want to withdraw your money. Different options like fast cash, cash withdrawal, etc. are provided.

 

If you choose fast cash option, a set of amounts is presented in the screen and you can          quickly withdraw by choosing one. But, if you choose cash withdrawal option, then you can enter the amount you wish to withdraw.

7. Finishing the transaction:

Once you have entered the amount, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the transaction. Also, if you wish to cancel the transaction during the process, then simply press cancel button. After you have completed the transaction, take the ATM card and money safely with you. Also, don’t forget to take the voucher that comes at the end.
