Meta tags are snippets of text describe the content of any particular page on the web. Meta tags offer more details about your site to search engines and website visitor who encounter your site. You should know how to have the right meta tags on site because that does help you to rank higher on search engines. So, there are three optimized Meta tags
- Title tag
- Meta description
- Meta keywords
Anytime when you search for something on Google or any other search engines you can see listings of your results with blue link on the top that is a title tag. Also, you can see two-three lines under the title tags is Meta description tag. Meta keyword tag is where you put all your keywords. It is invisible to the visitors but each keyword accurately reflects the content of the pages. But these days any major search engines do not use meta keywords to rank. That is why meta keywords are not very important.
Title tags are major factor that help search engines what your page is about and it is first impression to your audience. If you make your title tags unique on every page that grab search user attention and you also get more traffic on your site. So, they are such an important part of both search engine optimization and the search user.
Meta description gives short description about your page. If you have something in Meta description that would give good answer or it matches what the user types in or something along those lines then they will go through your site. The purpose of a meta description for your page is to encourage search users to click your link.
Search engines say they don’t use meta description as a ranking algorithm but Google uses CTR (click through rate) which means the more clicks you get the high rank you gain not matter you are a good result or not. So meta description really help to gain users clicks and get space in SEO.
So, if you want to get SEO space then focus on making good meta tags.
